Auditions are for the following standard big band instrumentation: Alto saxophones, Tenor Saxophones, Bari Saxophones, trumpets, trombones or baritone, and rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, auxiliary percussion, and drums,). The trio of James Riotto, Robert Shelton, and Josh Korr are joined here by an amazing group of their musician friends, most notably Jeremy Harris (Ever Isles,, Kacey Johansing), who lends his multi-instrumental talents to much of the EP, and Mohsen Namjoo, the great Persian singer and Setar player with whom The Moanin Dove tours the world as his backing band.All students interested in participating in the Blackwater Beats Jazz Band at any level are encouraged to audition.
